Liebster Award

Today I am super excited because my blogger friend, Paige, from Tomatoes for Cucumbers nominated me for a Liebster Award! I've seen these awards floating around other blogs, and I'm happy to be nominated and participate in the fun. Make sure to check out Paige's blog & read all about her life in Chicago!

For those of you who don't know what a Liebster Award is, it's basically an award that is passed along the blogging community to those who have fewer than 200 followers as a way to simply get to know other bloggers better!

The rules are simple: You list 11 facts about yourself & answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you. Finally, you nominate a few other bloggers for the award & list 11 of your own questions for them to answer.

{My 11 facts}
1. I cannot survive the morning without coffee.
2.  I met my husband during our freshman year of college and had a crush on him all four years until we finally started dating the summer after we graduated.
3. I am from a very small town- population 2,500 & 49 people in my high school graduating class.
4. I am obsessed with my red Cockapoo, Louie. He seriously is the cutest thing I have ever seen & his personality is adorable.
5. I am an Ole Miss Rebel- Hotty Toddy!
6. I love to pray on my morning or afternoon walks/runs. Such a sweet time to talk to The Lord. And if I am running, I am usually asking Him to help me get through it without passing out.
7. I love food. It's good for the soul.
8. I think leopard is totally a neutral and you can never have too much leopard in your closet.
9. I played basketball in high school.
10. I love all things white and all things monogrammed.
11. To me, the perfect date night is a nice dinner with my hubby, followed by sitting on the front porch swing- talking & laughing, with a glass of wine in hand.

{Paige's Questions}
  1. What is the story behind the name of your blog? I wanted something simple & catchy. Living on Park Avenue is a new adventure for us- so it seemed to fit perfectly!
  2. What is your dream vacation? It was to visit Italy- and we saved & saved to make that dream come true this past summer! It was the trip of a lifetime. Now, I'm dreaming of Bora Bora. Have you seen the pics (all over pinterest) of the cute little huts nestled in the prettiest turquoise water you've ever seen?!  I need to be there.
  3. What is your favorite movie of all time? Wizard of Oz. I'm pretty sure I've dressed up like Dorothy with the red glitter shoes no less than 1,000 times.
  4. What is your biggest fear? Being alone.
  5. Sweet or salty snacks? Hmm..both? I will take either- and even better mixed together.
  6. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your teenage self? Stop wanting to rush time!! I remember thinking..I can't wait to be 16, and then it was..I can't wait to be a senior & go to college. Enjoy the time you have now because you will never get it back. (So cliche, I know..but so so true)
  7. Would you rather have a personal chef or personal stylist? Definitely a personal stylist. I love to cook. I do not love blow drying my hair or picking out an outfit every day. I could use someone to do both of those things for me.
  8. What is your favorite cereal? Fruity Pebbles, hands down.
  9. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Growing up, it was my parents making me and my sisters a cup of hot chocolate (extra marshmallows) and letting us open one present on Christmas Eve night. Now, I love that Chris & I have started our own tradition of going to pick out our Christmas tree each year- with a cup of hot chocolate, of course.
  10. What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in life to date? Becoming a teacher. I love my job. It is such a rewarding feeling to know that I have the chance to make a difference in my students' lives each and every day. I try to remind myself of that every time I walk in my classroom.
  11. Why did you start your blog? I started blogging a few years ago to document our engagement/wedding & my move to a new city. I didn't post often, we got married, and the blog kind of fell to the wayside. I continued to keep up with blogs that I love, and started getting the itch to blog again when we moved into our new house. We were first time homeowners, I was having so much fun decorating & completing projects, I got a new job as a 3rd grade teacher, we were taking cool trips, and I got a new camera and was enjoying taking photos. I wanted a new, updated place to write and share photos of these things. I spent several months reading other blogs, and gathering ideas & a vision for my own blog. Park Avenue has become a creative outlet for me, and I am loving this little space of mine!
