Cabin Life

We spent the weekend in the Smoky Mountains celebrating our three year anniversary (Dec. 17th), and a relaxing weekend with my one and only was just what I needed! We started this annual trip on our first anniversary. We wanted to do a weekend getaway to celebrate, and the Smokies seemed like the perfect place- not expensive, relaxing, and only about 4 hours from Nashville.

So every year since then we've celebrated by taking a trip to the mountains. Originally, we stayed in the cutest little bed and breakfast lodge. This year we decided to get a cabin of our own so we could cook each night for dinner and have a place all to ourself. We found this this little cabin on Airbnb and loved it! With a hot tub, grill, fire pit, and an amazing view..we had everything we needed!

We spent Friday lounging around in our pjs, playing games (side note: I beat Chris is scrabble) and munching on chili. We enjoyed the hot tub that afternoon and then spent the night cooking on the grill We ended the nigth by the fire pit roasting s'mores for dessert.

On Saturday after breakfast in the cabin, we decided to go on a hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We went on what we thought was a casual, easy hike..but it turned out to be a 5 mile hike up the mountain, and at one point I was literally thinking of a way I could get a helicopter to come get me. I'm glad I stuck it out because it turned out to be the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen- pics to come of that adventure soon! Since the hike turned into a four hour adventure, we didn't do much Saturday night expect cook a delicious steak dinner and watch movies. All in all, it was the perfect weekend!
I brought some cute comfy sweaters to wear and had planned on taking some pictures of us with the pretty scenery…#fail. I definitely stayed in my pajamas all weekend, and I didn't mind it one bit. How was your weekend? Only 10 days until Christmas!! But who's counting? Thanks for reading.
