Growing up, I loved when my mom would pull out the boxes with all of the Christmas decorations. It was always so much fun helping her decorate the house with my sisters. Now that I have my own home, one of my most favorite things about the season is decorating it with holiday cheer. I got married during the Christmas season, so a lot of my stuff is from a Christmas shower that was hosted for me, but the most special decorations are the ones from my childhood and Chris's childhood that our moms let us have for our home.
This cart in our dining room has become our "childhood corner." The stocking was mine when I was a little girl, and the other crafts hanging were made by Chris when he was a little boy. The most special thing on the cart to me is the toy below with the little girl looking through the Christmas shop window. This toy reminds my of my childhood Christmases more than any other. I have vivid memories of pulling this toy out every year. My younger sister, Mallory, and I would wind the music and watch the toys in the window dance and the train go around the tracks. I loved this toy as a little girl, and I still do. It brings back so many memories.
This ornament is my favorite on our tree. It is our wedding invitation inside a beautiful glass ornament. It was given to us as a wedding gift, and I love pulling it out each year when Chris and I are decorating our tree because it brings back all the memories of our special day.
