Florence, Italy

We stayed in Florence for three days on our trip to Italy - you may have seen other posts from our trip herehereherehere, and here. I've finally gone through all our pictures from Florence and picked the ones that best reflect our stay there.

When you're overlooking Florence from a terrace or rooftop, the first thing you notice is The Duomo. It stands tall over the city, and climbing to the top was definitely a highlight of our trip. It was built in the 7th century and all the architectural details are beautiful.

Another plus of Florence is the shopping (!!). We spent an afternoon walking in and out of stores and shopping on the streets. Since they are known for their Italian leather, I came home with the most beautiful leather python clutch that I will cherish forever. It brings back such good memories of our trip.

Sweetest welcome package from our hotel - Hotel Santa Maria Novella

Views from our hotel terrace and happy hours with my man

View from the top of the Duomo - I almost quit climbing because there were so. many. stairs. I am so glad I didn't because that view was absolutely breathtaking.

Statue of David - standing in front Michelangelo's David was the most fascinating moment of our trip. Sculpted between 1501 and 1504, looking at something that dates that far back and depicts a Biblical story left me speechless!

The food in Florence was fantastic...sandwiches as big as my face, fresh pizza, and the best steak I've ever eaten - the blueberry steak from Acqua al 2

Looking at these pictures make me want to go back so bad! There is no place like it - read my 10 reasons to fall in love with Italy here. Have you ever been? Thanks for stopping by!
