Max Patch Mountain

Every anniversary getaway, Chris and I like to get out of our cabin in the woods for some fresh air and take a hike. It is one activity we look forward to every year, and since this year we visited Asheville for the first time, we were so excited to explore all the hiking trails it has to offer.

After doing some researching, we decided to check out Max Patch Mountain because it isn't too long of a hike but offers some beautiful views. We stopped along the hillside before reaching the top and enjoyed a light picnic. I'm not going to lie, it was cold and windy, but being out in the crisp air felt good.

Once you get to the top of the summit, you are looking at a panoramic view of the Appalachian Mountains, including the Blue Ridge and the Smokies. We hiked it in December, but I can only imagine how pretty it is in the spring with all the wildflowers in bloom. We may just have to go back for a spring getaway weekend and check that out!

I am off work today - for a snow day (!!!). It's the first one of the season, and I couldn't be more excited. I do have some papers to grade and a few things to do for work, but it's much better doing them on your couch in your PJ's than at your desk. Am I right?

Have you gotten any snow where you live? I always love the first snowfall of the season! But come March, I'm ready for the cold weather to get gone! Haha. I hope you all are having a wonderful week, and thanks for stopping by!
