Photo taken last year on his 1st birthday
It's a special day around here - it's Louie's birthday (!!). My little nugget turns two today, and yes, I'm the crazy dog lady who buys him a cake and makes him wear ridiculous things like a birthday hat and bow tie. It's a bit much, I realize that, but I don't care. Boom. This pup has brought more joy to my life than words can explain. When we found Louie's breeder and committed to getting a pup, things in our life were good and on track. We had just started "trying" to have a baby and there was no stress in regards to that - yet.
By the time we got Louie (in April of 2014), we had been trying for a few months but still not super stressed about it, and Louie was a great addition to the family in those first few months because he brought so much excitement and happiness to our lives. He was my first baby. Then more months went by and the struggle of infertility slowly crept up on us (you can read my full story here). One thing through all of it has remained the same - Louie. He doesn't know that I just took a negative pregnancy test or the reason I'm crying, but he knows I need cheering up and knows exactly how to do that.
He greets with me love and excitement every time I come home, he cuddles with me all the time, and he even lets me treat him like a human baby (he secretly is such diva and loves it). I'm telling you, this little pup was brought into our lives for a reason. He was, and always will be, my first baby. Happy birthday, Louie! You are so loved and cherished. Tell me - do you celebrate your pet's birthday?! Or do you think people like me are just plum crazy?! If so, it's ok - I totally get it that it's a bit dramatic. Thank you so much for stopping by!
PS - I get this question a lot, so I want to share where we got our Lou man from. He is from Sugar and Spice Cockapoos, and I can't recommend them enough. They were great to work with! They have recently gotten so popular that the waiting list is pretty long - so check it out now if you're interested in a Cockapoo.
