I kept it casual and light for last week's Let's Talk Tuesday, but there is something on my mind this week that I want to talk about because it's been all around me lately and got me to thinking. If you haven't noticed, we live in a world of constant negativity. Just turn on the news - it's like a broken record player, filled with bad news and attitudes that is never ending. That's just our world (unfortunately), and the day and age that we live in. It's hard to change that, but you know what you can change? Your attitude. What you say. How you make others feel. The toxic work environment that you're creating. Seeing the good in the midst of all the bad. The way you live your day to day life. Don't let the world of negativity control you.
"Chances are that you know someone who is really negative. You know the type: always complaining, getting fired, having her car broken into; his girlfriend is cheating on him. These people are convinced that life is sh*t…and so, it is. It's the age-old concept of like attracts like, or the law of attraction. You get back what you put out, so you might as well think positively, focus on visualizing what you want instead of getting distracted by what you don't want, and send the universe your good intentions so that it can send them right back."
That excerpt from Sophia Amoruso's book #GIRLBOSS (a must read!) says it perfectly. Negative people suck. They are always complaining about something: work, their relationship, something they don't agree with, their life is so hard, blah blah - these people are toxic! Don't get me wrong, I know things are hard some days, but do they really have to be negative all the time?? To all the negatives: If you can't find something positive to say, then please just stay quiet. Like Sophia said - send the universe your good intentions. Chances are, it will send them right back! Hope this encourages the negative people to rethink their words and the positive people to keep on smiling and sending good vibes everywhere. :) Thanks for reading and remember this!
