Friday Favorites

Lots of couch time and snuggles with this cutie while recovering from my IVF egg retrieval!

"Life is all about balance. You don't always need to be getting stuff done. Sometimes it's perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary, to shut down, kick back and do nothing."

This was a great reminder this week, as I found myself anxious to get back to my work routine instead of resting to recover. I felt like I was falling behind on so many projects and a million things on my to-do list. The day after my retrieval I pushed myself so hard running around doing things that I ended up getting sick and being in a lot of pain. Between that and seeing this quote on Pinterest, I told myself that it's ok to sit and rest. My body needed it! So I took the weekend and the first of the week to kick back and do nothing, and I have to say that it was wonderful!

This time of year is that pre-fall lull, when it's too hot to wear fall clothes, but too late in the summer to justify spending any money on new summer clothes - so I love dresses that I can wear now to beat the heat, but also style into fall! The trick is buying colors that work well in the fall too - like dark greens, reds, and blacks! I rounded up some of my favorite dresses to wear into fall, like this baby doll dress and fun maxi romper.

Goodness y'all, it has been a CRAZY (but crazy good) few weeks. We started IVF at the beginning of this month and haven't slowed down since. Our IVF doctor is actually located in Louisville, KY - almost three hours away from Nashville! I'll explain later how that happened, but needless to say, the travel back and forth got the best of us these past 3 weeks. I've spent more nights in a hotel bed this month than I have my own bed, ha ha!

All in all, we have had a wonderful experience so far and things with my egg stimulation and egg retrieval went great! We are doing a frozen transfer, so we have a while before that big day. Right now, we are resting and prepping my body for that next step. I know so many of you are also going through infertility and come here for support - so I do plan on doing a few IVF posts to give you advice, tips, and just my overall thoughts. I have had a lot of you ask me for updates, which I SO appreciate, but for now just know that everything is progressing nicely and more information will be coming your way soon!

We are so excited to be home this weekend! We are taking it easy, other than going to dinner with some good friends on Saturday. We also have people coming to stay with us on Sunday night for the eclipse on Monday! Nashville is one of the cities that will experience a total Solar Eclipse, so people are traveling from all over to see it. I'm pretty excited and have my glasses ready! What are your weekend plans? Cheers and thanks for reading! XO -
