Embracing Color

If you know me well, then you know that I'm pretty much an all-neutral type of gal. Walk into my home, and you'll see calming, peaceful tones. Take a peek into my closet, and you'll see mostly grays, creams, and blacks. I am who I am, and I'm just not one for bold pops of color. With that being said, I did recently branch out with this Alice and Trixie green silk top. There was something about it that I just couldn't resist!

The material looked so soft, and I loved the way the sleeves bubbled (?) out - not sure if that's the best word to describe the sleeves, but we are going with it. I do love the fit of it, and as we wrap up summer and head into fall, I have found myself reaching for it more times than not! For this look, I kept everything else pretty neutral to balance out the boldness of the top. Well, I kept the rest of the outfit pretty neutral, that is. Then there is the wall....

When I met my photographer to shoot this look, this wall mural happened to be right in front of the parking lot where I parked. I thought - well, let's take this "embracing color" mood I'm in to the next level! If this wall mural doesn't scream BOLD, I don't know what does. And while I won't be bringing this much bold color and prints into my life, it was fun to embrace it for the time being, ha ha!

So tell me, are you a lover of neutrals? Or do you like some color and flare in your life? I think it's so interesting how everyones' taste is different. My sister, for example, LOVES color! She has a beautiful home and makes all the colors go together so well. While I love her home, it's just not me... ya know? Me - I'm creams and grays all the way. To each their own, right?! And that's why we are all beautiful in our own way. Thanks for reading! XO -
