Tailgating With McAlister's Deli

Thank you to McAlister's Deli for sponsoring this post.
As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm so excited for today's post because I'm teaming up with McAlister's Deli to chat about one of my favorite things to do this time of year - tailgate! Living in the south, football is a way of life, and there's not a fall Saturday that we aren't munching on game day snacks and cheering on our college football team.

Chris and I both went to the University of Mississippi (also know as "Ole Miss"), and that's actually where we met! You may have heard about how we tailgate down at Ole Miss, with The Grove being one of the most elaborate pre-game gatherings in the country - we definitely take tailgating to the next level! Now that we live in Nashville, we aren't able to attend every Ole Miss game, but that doesn't mean we aren't rooting them on from home. We love to host game day parties at our house and do a little backyard tailgating.

Setting up for a tailgate party is super easy, thanks to McAlister's Catering! McAlisters actually started in Oxford, MS - which is the cutest little southern town where The University of Mississippi is located. I grew up in Mississippi and have been attending Ole Miss football games since I can remember, so I grew up eating at McAlister's and have fond memories of their yummy food being at many tailgate events. I love that I can bring part of that tradition to my own tailgate parties here in Nashville.

What I love most about McAlister's catering is all the food options they offer - from sandwich trays to a nacho bar, you'll be sure to find something that you and your tailgate friends will love! Check out their catering menu here. I also love that they offer salads, which are perfect to have as a healthy option for your guests! For this tailgate party, I went with the Nacho Bar and Savannah Chopped Salad. I love that the Nacho Bar is a "build your own" - which is perfect when you are having several people over. Everyone loves to have choices when it comes to food!

Of course, I couldn't have a tailgate party without McAlister's famous sweet tea! I threw in some Lemonade as well, and I have to mention that a the sweet tea and lemonade mixed together might be the most perfect duo ever. Just throwing that out there. And don't forget to order some sweet treats! I went with the dessert bar tray for a mix of everything. YUM. Ordering is super easy, and you just pick it up at your local deli. It will save you a ton of time on game day - more time for watching the game and visiting with friends!

It's always a good idea to add some fun decor touches to your tailgate party! I made cute little football bags to hold the nachos and loved the way they turned out! I ordered these mini kraft paper bags and used white duct tape to make the football seams - I mean soooo cute, right?! I also added some decorative straws and game day picks to the drinks and dessert. Also, one tip I always like to mention for tailgate parties is to bring something fun for people to participate in - like corn hole, Catch Phrase, or even just a good ole' football to toss around. We are the crazy people who tailgate for hours, so having a little game to play is always fun! You'll see below that Chris thinks he should win the Heisman this year.

Do you like to tailgate? And most importantly, who's your team?! I'd love to hear! Make sure you check out McAlister's Deli for your next tailgate party! Thanks so much for reading.
